Abstract
This presentation will serve to provide a basic tutorial regarding the NFIP. There will be a brief review on the history of the Program, helping to reiterate the purpose and continued need for floodplain management regulation and flood insurance mandatory purchase requirements. In addition, there will be some discussion on flood insurance policies, including definitions and coverages. Lastly, specific attention will be made to educate on the NFIP Map and Zone Grandfather Rules and highlight the October 1, 2009 Program changes. Any remaining time will be used to address outstanding questions and concerns. To ensure that attendees receive sufficient information from this seminar, NFIP publication material and contact information will be disseminated to each participant.
