Abstract
The State of Missouri is currently updating and producing DFIRM (Digital Flood Insurance Rate Maps) Maps in multiple counties across the state in coordination with the FEMA Map Modernization Program. This program is entering the second phase whereby Multiple Hazards are identified and accessed. Two needs have arisen in association with the successful management of this program. First, the need exists to retrieve the Base Flood Elevations (BFAs) from Approximate floodplain studies created during the FEMA Map Modernization Process. These are not posted on the printed Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMS). The need also exists to be able to identify Letters of Map Change (LOMA) BFEs on a map. AMEC has created a tool to view the BFAs on the current SEMA Floodplain website and created a Letter of Map Amendment Mapping Tool that will add additional layers to the mapping website from the Hazard Mitigation Plan data for Hazard Risk Identification. AMEC will present how to use these tools.
